URGENT ASK: Help California farmers stop Harvard's water grab in the Cuyama Valley. Local farmers and organizers are raising $25,000 to fight Harvard's appeal to build massive water-wasting reservoirs in the area. Learn more and donate at the GoFundMe: gofundme.com/f/stop-harvards…
Earlier this year, Harvard students & alumni came together to support California farmers fighting Harvard's water grab. Dozens of you joined to listen to frontline communities & give testimony at the Santa Barbara hearing. We won - BUT Harvard has appealed the decision.
Harvard's appeal means another expensive legal fight. California farmers need to raise $25,000 by October 10 to stop Harvard's water grab. It's important that we show up for frontline communities in this way. Please help by sharing this thread and donating what you can!

We are here at the Santa Barbara County Planning Commission hearing in solidarity with local farmers to OPPOSE Harvard's proposed reservoirs in the Cuyama Valley. This project would have devastating impacts for water access. #StopHarvardLandGrabsyoutube.com/watch?v=b0CbiyuZ…
"Harvard hides its actions behind a web of companies that it has created. ... If Santa Barbara County ever wants to hold Harvard accountable for their actions with the vineyards in the future, it will be extremely difficult to do so." -Hannah, @StopHLG organizer
We are on HOUR FOUR of this hearing. The opposition to Harvard's project is overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who is staying on to support Cuyama farmers' testimony.
MOMENTS AGO: students have entered University Hall for a multi-hour occupation in protest of @Harvard’s active promotion of a culture of sexual violence, including by allowing known sexual abuser John Comaroff to continue teaching at Harvard. Follow along for updates.
