A Tesco meal deal was £3 in 2015. Adjusted for inflation that would be £4.20 in today's money.
A Tesco meal deal is £3.85 today. Meal deal prices have have fallen relative to other prices.
And that understates things because the options are better now:
In 2015, a good-value bundle (with a sandwich, a Red Bull and some Walkers Sensations) could get you £4.85 worth of food, £6.78 in today's money.
Today the meal deal can get you sushi, a protein shake and a protein bar that would cost £8.45 separately.
So you pay 35p less for as much as £1.67 more of food.
Food inflation skyrocketed after the Tories & Reform’s botched Brexit. 😐
So I’m campaigning to bring prices down and cut the cost of living, starting with a UK favourite: the meal deal. 🥪
It’s time to give something back to the grafters out getting their lunch. ✅
