When I was 17 my dad walked in on me sleeping with my then boyfriend. They kicked him out and cried and screamed at me about how it was an unnatural sin, and how they 'wanted grandbabies.'
My brother died last year, and they expect grandkids.

Afrer I met my boyfriend, staying im the closet became unsustainable. I had never bothered to come out as I was managing quite well and never felt the drive to tell anyone. Went down without issue as I expected and it's rarely a point of discussion.

I'm extremely pro immigration. It's usually at the same time the humanitarian, the economically and demographically sensible position. But the moment you start spewing talking points that are anti LGBT, you take the next plane home.

That is categorically untrue. The only thing that changes maybe is the flavour of the bigotry. The upper class is unlikely to punch you in the face. They forego that for more subtle means. The middle class is usually the worst due to their insecurities.
