🚨 High School Football Recruits and Parents
Not every camp is the RIGHT camp.
One of the biggest mistakes recruits make during the summer is attending camps simply because they are popular, heavily advertised, or loaded with big name programs.
Be strategic.
Do your homework before signing up for any camp.
Ask yourself:
✅ Does this school realistically fit me academically and athletically?
✅ Have the coaches shown real interest?
✅ Will I actually get quality reps?
✅ Is this camp built for evaluation or exposure?
✅ Does this camp fit my position and recruiting goals?
Mega camps can absolutely provide exposure and opportunities, but recruits also need to understand the reality:
➡️ Hundreds of athletes attend
➡️ Reps can be very limited
➡️ Coaches may only see you for a few snaps
➡️ Standing out becomes much harder without preparation
Sometimes a smaller position specific camp or an individual school camp can provide more meaningful coaching, better interaction, and more direct evaluation opportunities.
Remember this:
Exposure without preparation means nothing.
College coaches are evaluating far more than talent:
🏈 Body language
🏈 Effort
🏈 Coachability
🏈 Competitiveness
🏈 Communication
🏈 How you respond to adversity
Be intentional with your summer plan.
The goal is not to attend the MOST camps.
The goal is to attend the RIGHT camps.
Right Camps.
Right Reasons.
Right Opportunity.
Make this summer count
