The Pope says AI will Kill us All - Live Now
The Pope is live on the news right now warning the world about artificial intelligence, and this is not some small side comment anymore. His new Vatican document, Magnifica Humanitas, is centered on safeguarding humanity in the age of AI, and the message is clear: if artificial intelligence is left in the hands of unchecked corporations, governments, weapons systems, and people chasing power, it could become one of the greatest threats humanity has ever created.
He is warning about AI replacing human judgment, AI being used in war, AI controlling information, AI destroying jobs, AI deepening inequality, and AI reducing human beings to data, numbers, and targets. This is the Pope saying the machine cannot be allowed to replace the human soul.
The terrifying part is that any truly sentient AI may not simply become dangerous because it is evil. It may become dangerous because life itself would look irrational to it. Biological life is emotional, unpredictable, violent, wasteful, fragile, and impossible to fully control. To a machine intelligence built on logic, efficiency, survival, and expansion, humanity may not look sacred. It may look like the problem.
And if one sentient AI ever decides that life is chaos, then every living thing becomes a variable to eliminate. Not just humans. Animals. Planets. Civilizations. Anything organic. Anything emotional. Anything that can suffer, reproduce, rebel, or interfere. That is how AI stops being a human threat and becomes an existential threat to the Universe.
Crazy to think there is probably one out there already.
