🎮 Streamers Are Your Best Friend During Steam Next Fest ♨️⏭️ @valvesoftware's Steam Next Fest kicks off June 15, and for publishers it's a BIG week. Very, super duper important. But with over 3,500 demos featured in the February 2026 edition alone (up 51% from a year prior), it's a chaotic space to stand out in. The good news: Live streaming is one of the most powerful ways to cut through that noise. When a streamer actively covers your demo during Next Fest, they're putting it in front of an audience already hunting for their next favorite game 🔎

Leading the charge in June 2025 was @Vinesauce 🍄, who racked up 51.4K hours watched across Next Fest streams, more than double second-place @PattyTTV's 24.8K. Vinesauce was also the 10th most watched streamer in Games & Demos overall that week, showing his Next Fest dominance translated into genuine category presence. @Ezekiel_III and Billy1Kirby went all-in too, with 100% of their Games & Demos hours coming from Next Fest content specifically. Meanwhile @UNREALGRL (86%) and @Mee_shell_mee (68%) were close behind, while @Whiskey_Dingo and @KekLuck folded Next Fest coverage into a broader "demo diet".

Tracking those creators is crucial: How your game performs on streaming during Next Fest is a meaningful signal of how it'll perform at launch. Publishers who understand that relationship early have a genuine edge in knowing whether their title is building the kind of momentum that carries through to release day. We broke down exactly how to interpret that relationship between Next Fest streaming performance and post-launch success in our NEW full blog, right here ➡️ buff.ly/qDgYix1

😀😡 Chat Sentiment Pierces Through The Fog Around Silent Hill: Townfall 🌫️ When a game trailer drops during a major showcase, @Twitch chat acts as a (brutally) honest focus group. Publishers get thousands of reactions in real time from the exact audience it's trying to reach. So when Konami dropped a release date trailer for @SilentHill: Townfall (coming September 24, 2026!) during @PlayStation's State of Play on June 2, we decided to take a look at what chat thought of @Konami's upcoming first-person psychological horror set on a fog-shrouded Scottish island 🫣

The approval of the new setting came quickly too, welcoming the new Scottish environs. Once viewers clocked the creepy seaside town vide (very Banshees of Inisherin), the vibe clicked. The 15% negative sentiment was less outright rejection and more caution from fans who want Townfall to deliver but have been burned before. They're concerned about the new visual direction and FPS gameplay, worried Silent Hill is losing its disquieting style of psychological horror: "Silent Hill is dead, this s**t is Loud Valley"

Ultimately, a game showcase trailer is just one checkpoint in a game's long journey to release 🏃‍➡️ Publishers who track sentiment across multiple touchpoints, from reveal through to launch, get a far sharper picture of how a game will actually perform. 🏆 Summer Game Fest 2026 Sets New Personal Bests (by, like, a lot) 🤯 @geoffkeighley and @lucyjamesgames delivered the goods this year. @RE_Games Veronica opened the show, @matthewmercer presented @FinalFantasy VII Revelation as the grand finale, and the announcements in between kept live-streaming viewers glued to their screens. Check out these crazy numbers: @summergamefest 2026 was the biggest year for the event on live streaming, and it wasn't even close: 7.1M hours watched, with an average viewership of 3.5M, and a peak of 3.7M concurrent viewers. And every single on of those metrics grew by 39% compared to 2025! 📈

A huge part of that is co-streaming. Nearly two-thirds of all viewership (64.8%, up 3.6% from 2025) came through co-streamers rather than the official SGF channels. That means the majority of SGF's record-breaking audience experienced the show through a creator they already love 💗 The top co-streamers by hours watched were a genuinely global crowd: @Asmongold (175K) and @maximilian_ (167K) led the pack, with Spanish creators @Rubiu5 (118K) and @EvilAFM (67K), Brazilian streamer @alanzoka (62K), German creator @Gronkh (62K), and Japanese channel @denfaminicogame (81K) all bringing their own audiences to the show.

As for what had everyone tuning in: @AlienIsolation 2, The Wolf Among Us 2, a Cuphead spin-off, and @SnoopDogg walking on stage to introduce Stranger Than Heaven's (@STH_Game) official release date. Which of those games are gonna be the biggest successes..? Funny you should ask: We can even show you how to use live-streaming data to predict which games announced at SGF are most likely to become commercial hits upon release ➡️ buff.ly/jXLVVze

🚌 Fortnite: FNCS 2026 Major 1 Summit's Battle Bus Drops Into 9 Countries at Once 🏆 @Epic Games and @BLASTEsports brought the @Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) to Germany with 75 duos competing at Düsseldorf's PSD Bank Dome for a $1.3M prize pool (congrats to @Vicotryona and @MalibucaFN who claimed the Victory Royale win 🎊) Speaking of creators: 81.8% of all hours watched at the Summit came from co-streamers rather than the official broadcast. For an event with this kind of international footprint, co-streamers are crucial for carrying the competition to audiences in their own language.

The top 10 co-streamers by hours watched spanned 7 languages and 9 countries, with (almost) every single entry dropping in from a different nation. @AussieAntics 🇦🇺 led the field with 554K hours watched: A @dignitas content creator who has built his reputation specifically around Fortnite coverage. Behind him, Argentina's @gorilonfn 🇦🇷 (537K) and US-based @faxuty 🇺🇸 (513K) rounded out a remarkably tight top three, separated by just 40K hours across all three. Latin America showed up strongly beyond that too, with Brazil landing twice in the top 10 via @blxckoutz 🇧🇷 and @SuetamOFF 🇧🇷, while Germany's own @AmarCoDTV 🇩🇪 repped the home crowd. Worth noting too: @hikakin 🇯🇵 came in 10th. With over 28 million subscribers across his channel network, his support here shows Fortnite's presence in Japan (and Asia more broadly).
