How do you survey riverbanks without getting muddy?
Scientists at the Goulburn River, Vic use drones to compare the condition of the riverbank and vegetation before and after flows of #WaterForTheEnvironment.

How about this for a birds-eye view?
Neil and Thom have been busy out in the field this week collecting imagery for us to consider the influence of flow on bank condition.
Here's a little snippet!

What is the link between platypus abundance and a waterway's physical form?
Streamology has been investigating this alongside Ecology Australia and the Australian Platypus Conservancy.
Here is a photo diary from our field trip.

Considerably more planning and approvals but Streamology has managed to continue our remote area drone monitoring of banks and vegetation with a zero contact approach. Here we are at the Edward Wakool.
Being out amongst it highlights the importance of contact with nature.
Geoff and Steve were all smiles after receiving the Stormwater NSW 'Excellence in Research and Innovation' award in Sydney yesterday! A very happy day for the team.
This project holds BIG potential, and we're excited to see it shape waterways across the country!
Many thanks to CTEnvironmental, Sydney Water and the University of Melbourne for collaborating on this fantastic project! @CTEnvironmental@SydneyWaterNews@unimelb
Last week it was wonderful to gather the team for an evening hike and picnic dinner up on beautiful Mt Buffalo.
Streamology has recently opened a second office space in Carlton, where Thom and Neil are based, so it was especially nice to show them around our local national park
And now for some very joyous news…!
Welcome to the world, River James Clarke.
Wishing Steve, Mic and River all the best for this exciting new chapter of life. We can’t wait to meet little River and watch him grow up enjoying the beautiful Ovens River at his doorstep.
The ASMC is a great opportunity to get scientists, researchers, policymakers and consultants together to share and collaborate.
We all share a common goal to protect and restore Australian rivers, so these opportunities to work together to advance the industry are so important.
Join us for the amazing 10th Australian Stream Management Conference to be held at Mantra on Salt Beach in Kingscliff, NSW from 23-26 August 2020.
Save the date and we look forward to connecting with the people advancing catchment management in Australia buff.ly/2TOKZ7S
Fires have been at the top of our minds for the last month.
In the North East of Victoria a third of the catchment has burned and they are not over yet.
It is also now important for us to consider the post-fire impacts....
Post-fire impacts include the influence of heavy rain on burnt catchments, with their lack of retentive capacity, and mobile sediment loads.
Streamology is working with authorities to help in this management. We are hoping to prevent some of the impacts we have seen previously
Thank you to our friends, family, clients, associates and community for all of the support during the #vicfires and associated evacuation of our office in Bright. Our team members have now returned to the area safely, and are very grateful for all of the support and understanding
