We taught him to carry everything except the right to set it down. We taught him to be strong before we told him what strong means before he had a word for the ache. We gave him a fist and called it a future. We gave him silence and called it strength….

Look at him, not at what you need him to become. Look at what he already is: a full sky, still learning he is allowed to rain. Happy International Day to the boy child. Boys are not a problem to be managed; there are questions we have refused to answer with tenderness.

Reunification is not a straight path. It often involves a delicate dance to rehabilitate the child and the home they had to escape from. It requires persistence, grace & patience. No child really wants to call the streets home.

The story never begins with them running away from home and that’s why we do what we do.

6weeks ago, a government task force abused children living on the streets. Yesterday, we marched on these very streets. What happened on March 19th will not be forgotten. What happens next will not be left to chance. Not on our watch. Watch this space for more stories

Today is the day we take to the streets for the ones forgotten. For every child living on the streets of Calabar who has ever been treated as a problem instead of a person; today, we march. Join us. Walk with us. Stand with us. #ProtectNotPunish | #IDSC2026

On April 10th, we unite for a powerful cause! We march to amplify the voices of those overlooked, misjudged, and forced to grow up too quickly. We march for every child who cannot speak for themselves, and together, we demand better rehabilitation processes for street children.

Our confrontation with government officials has ignited a national conversation. But this is bigger than dialogue, it’s about reforming a broken system. Walk with us on April 10th. Comment WALK for a sign-up link👇

Calling street children names is easier than asking why they're there. These children deserve better than our assumptions. I wrote about my experience with them and why the assault on street children deeply hurts me. Please read it🤍 open.substack.com/pub/kesie/…

Our video sparked the outrage it deserved. But some comments are trying to paint these children in a certain light and we’re not surprised. That reaction is exactly the environment that allows inhumane, illegal, and dangerous acts to persist. This is our response #streetpriests
