We must be morally prepared for the fact that Russia will deliberately try to destroy Ukraine's many ancient monuments and its most important sites of cultural and historical heritage. Today, they desecrated the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra with their violence. They struck the Dovzhenko Film Studio. The Mystetskyi Arsenal art center was damaged, as was a church in Dnipro. Saint Sophia of Kyiv is in danger. So are the ancient landmarks of Kyiv, the thousand-year-old churches of Chernihiv, the museums of the Zaporizhian Sich, and the historic treasures of Lviv. Since fascist Russia is somehow unable to defeat the Ukrainian army, and its missile terror against civilians is failing to produce results, the mighty and invincible Russia will now bravely wage war against historic churches with even greater ferocity.

Two things need to happen after this World Cup. 1. Destroy FIFA and replace it with something better. 2. Remove the 2028 Olympics for the USA. The racism, the ad breaks, the support for fascism It's a disgrace the only thing Infantino and Trump should run is the prison kitchen

🚨 VINI JR JUST TOLD FIFA: “WE’LL PAY THE FINE — BUT NOBODY FROM US IS DOING HALF-TIME INTERVIEWS.” During Brazil’s World Cup match, Vinícius refused the mandatory tunnel interview. Reporter: “You’ll get a huge fine for this.” Vini: “We’ll pay. But nobody is coming to the mic.” This isn’t arrogance. It’s players finally saying enough to FIFA’s corporate circus. Half-time should be for tactics, water, recovery — not feeding the broadcast machine while the game gets sliced up for ads (sound familiar with those forced “welfare” breaks?). FIFA under Infantino has turned football into a product. Mandatory everything. Player focus as an afterthought. Suits in Zurich cashing in. Brazil and Vini just pushed back. Raw. Direct. No bowing to the machine. The beautiful game belongs to the players on the pitch — not boardrooms selling every second. Who else is done with this?

When I went to the World Cup in Germany, you were allowed to travel on public transport for free to the stadium if you had a match ticket. No chance that Trump’s America would do anything like that! Infantino is a disgrace

One of the most beautiful moments before Spain vs Peru pre-World Cup did not come from a goal, a tackle or a piece of skill. 🇪🇸 v 🇵🇪 💘 It came from kindness. As the players walked onto the pitch, Peruvian defender Fabio Gruber noticed that the young boy with Down syndrome accompanying him was feeling cold in the stadium. Without hesitation, he removed his own jacket and gently placed it over the boy’s shoulders. In that simple act, football showed its heart. Moments like this are why the world loves football. As we head towards the 2026 World Cup, may we see more of this spirit on and off the pitch. #FIFAWorldCup #fwc2026 ⚽❤️

I loved this book when I was a teenager back in the 70s!
June 6th, 1974 📖 St. Albans Review published this glowing review of Ian Hunter’s book “Diary of a Rock and Roll Star” (Panther). Written during Mott the Hoople’s 1972 US tour, the book gives a raw, honest look at the realities of life on the road for a rock band — the long plane journeys, snatched meals, stage highs and the everyday grind. The reviewer praises Hunter’s straightforward style and recommends it highly, especially for pop/rock fans, calling it well worth the 50p price. A fascinating insight into the Mott the Hoople story from one of rock’s most charismatic frontmen. 📸 St. Albans, Harpenden, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield Review, 6 June 1974 #IanHunter #MottTheHoople #DiaryOfARockAndRollStar #OnThisDay #1974 #ClassicRock #MusicHistory #VintageNewspaper

The German far right's open attendance at Russia's SPIEF conference proves that the threat to Europe is already inside the house. If the RN, AfD and Reform UK win elections, European security will completely collapse. European democracy is facing its most dangerous moment since the Cold War. AfD sending representatives to Saint Petersburg to smile for cameras alongside war criminals is not an isolated incident. It is part of a coordinated, long-term strategy to place pro-Russian traitors and their puppets at the helm of the British, French, and German governments. A political victory for the National Rally, AfD, or Reform UK at the next elections would be a historical catastrophe. These groups are designed to paralyze Europe, cut off vital aid to democracies under attack, and legitimize brutal authoritarian expansion. They wrap themselves in national flags, yet they take their marching orders directly from Moscow. Real traitors! It is time to speak with total clarity about what a vote for these parties actually means. Choosing to support these movements is a betrayal of national sovereignty and a direct contribution to the destabilization of the West. Voters who fall for their populist rhetoric are actively enabling foreign subversion. A vote for them is a vote for Putin. We need a massive mobilization of citizens within these countries to fight back against this creeping threat. Passivity is no longer an option when the enemy is on the ballot. We must aggressively expose their lies, contest their narratives, and protect the values that keep Europe safe and free

To think that our brave forces carried out this magnificent achievement along with our allies, only to have the likes of Trump and Putin in positions of such power is a travesty
This day in history 6 June 1944, #DDay, British soldiers landed in Normandy alongside Allied forces to begin the liberation of Europe 🪖 Today, we remember their courage, sacrifice, and service 🫡 Lest we forget.

What a pleasure to meet the wonderful @WoodyWoodmansey last night! To think that I’m standing next to one of ‘the Spiders’, the guy who played drums on so many fantastic Bowie songs that informed my life! Play on, Woody!

Every day, ships leave this russian owned factory in Ireland straight for St Petersburg carrying thousands of tonnes of raw alumina for the war machine. There’s corruption everywhere. Locals tell me politicians are bought by oligarchs. Ireland is no longer militarily neutral.
