I have been working for five years on a project that began as a mystery about my home, but ultimately revealed an important history of race in Minneapolis. Our podcast, "Ghost of a Chance," will begin publishing Monday. Here is my first-person essay: startribune.com/a-mystery-ab…
For almost five years, my husband @StribRoper has been researching the Robinson’s, a Black couple who owned our home in SW Minneapolis a century ago.
Starting Jan 13, their story will be a told as a national podcast from the @StarTribune called Ghost of a Chance.
The wedding arch-turned garden gate @StribRoper and I built for our big day is featured in this month’s @Family_Handyman! They dedicated a whole page to the story of our nuptial woodworking project. And how we’ve now turned it into a permanent part of our home. 🥰
I enjoyed digging through our archives to chronicle Dan Cohen's long and very interesting career in Minneapolis politics. Cohen famously took the Star Tribune to the U.S. Supreme Court -- and won. He died in early April.

Is it true that a Minnesotan will "give you directions to anywhere but their home?" A reader who contacted Curious Minnesota says yes, and wants to know why. We want to hear from transplants and native Minnesotans alike. DM reporter @zoemjack or email zoe.jackson@startribune.com
Somewhere beneath southern Minnesota lie the remnants of about 40,000 board games once created and sold as an anti-establishment alternative to mega-selling Monopoly. startribune.com/anti-monopol…
