Fantastic evening at @Pentrehafod for their Y6 open evening tonight. Visiting as a parent rather than a work visit, lovely to see how their transition arrangements align with the UNCRC, daughter is excited for her journey ahead! Great to see a Gold secondary school in action 👍🏻
I hope everyone has a great first week back! Great to see so many of you planning your new class charters 👍🏻 just a quick reminder that the only people who have a ‘Responsibilities’ when it comes to rights are the duty bearers/adults. Rights are unconditional… (1/3)
….children are entitled to them no matter what. If you are currently planning a new charter, best practice is for pupils to choose which articles are important to them, then have actions for both children and adults on how to RESPECT them 👍🏻 (2/3)
If you want more information on the ‘decoupling’ of rights and responsibilities you can find our charter guidance here: unicef.org.uk/rights-respect… or our ‘myths and misconceptions booklet here: unicef.org.uk/rights-respect… I would love to see some completed charters!
