We’ve launched an inquiry into forestry slash and land use following the damage caused by woody debris during Cyclone Gabrielle.
Communities are concerned about the impact of forestry slash - we’ve listened to those concerns and we’re taking action to address them.

#BUSTED - Police have seized a firearm in Wairoa today after launching operation Kōtare in the East Coast - a 6 month crackdown on gang activity. As Minister my priority is to support our frontline Police in their fantastic efforts to keep our communities safe.

On World Tourism Day, I announced that this July saw the highest level of international visitor arrivals since the NZ borders were closed in March 2020. With over 134,200 overseas arrivals in July, it's clear that our tourism recovery is well underway!

Mourning the passing of a monarch who embodied the ethic of public service & a wonderful woman who personified dignity. My great grandfather & great grandmother represented NZ at her coronation in the UK all those years ago. Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth II & Long Live the King.
