Conspiracy theory: Maybe Sama and Greg also joined MSFT to ensure no one company owns & monopolizes GPT-5 or doesn’t end up creating/using AI in the wrong unsafe way. Ilya will make sure that’s the case at OpenAI. Only msft and openai have access to gpt-4 models & weights so far.
