The Cat, the Man, and the Two Women was a beautiful book that I finished in just a few days. However, two things in the book saddened me the most. First, theater was quite expensive in Japan in the old days. Second, Japanese women often attended only a few years of elementary school, and some women who worked in the fields did not even go to elementary school at all. For some reason, this reminded me of Turkish women in the past who were unable to receive an education. Even though our countries are geographically far apart, it is sad that we experienced such a difficult situation.
