For some reason rivers don’t hold the same place in the public consciousness as the sea does, but people from a town built on a river can have just as much emotional attachment to that river as any coastal community has to the sea. I love a swim in the Suir ahead of anywhere else
#CarlFrampton always comes across as a good man. Seems genuinely interested in the people he meets on his On Probation TV show.
Got a bit of stick on here last week because of the football team he supports, but there’s photos out there of him in the Antrim GAA colours too.
The quietest dog we had at the front gate - was the great Westmead Hawk.
He was the quietest until he heard one man’s voice. Then the barking &jumping started.
It cemented the bond he had with dogs - he respected them & they loved him. I was lucky to witness it.
RIP Nick.
A storm blew up during the Dun Laoighre Harbour Swim. Safety boats picked up more than 30 swimmers. The ladies race was cancelled. I had a great swim the same day and it remains one of my favourite ever races.
I can’t cope when the contestants don’t win the breakfast show bowl on @TodayFM@IanDempsey
If I know the answer and know that they’re getting it wrong I turn off the radio
Noel McGrath.
Nicky English.
My two all-time favourite Tipp hurlers.
This is Nicky talking (rhapsodising) about Noel.
Love and admiration bursting from an old soldier.
Genius recognising genius.
Glorious stuff.

A measure of how much a #boxing city #Belfast is, got an Uber to Windsor Park for the fights last night and the driver was an ex-boxer who had a pro record of 21-3 and 2 of the losses were to lads who went on to become world champions. #CrockerDonovan2@KevByrneBox@GavanCasey
