I’ve said this before, but the velaryon’s being black was a choice done only to make rhaenyra’s son’s paternity comically obvious rather than dubious. Once that bit was established the black actors were essentially thrown to the wolves since their real job had already been done

see personally I find it extremely odd how helaena gets to have a full face makeup in some of the scenes but god forbid they give rhaena the same treatment even though she’s clearly described as someone who took extreme care of her looks and beauty…like #OK
