Do you teach your Ss that tangent is slope? I've had enough Ss who did not know this, so I'm sharing it, in case it helps you. Kids have an easier time with tangent values when they see this connection.

"Practice Makes Perfect" is unrealistic. "Practice Makes Progress" is more accurate. Kids should be encouraged to make progress without feeling the need to be perfect.

in a perfectly rectangular pool table, balls bounce in an orderly pattern. But even a slight curve in the walls will make it chaotic, so that after a few bounces the balls totally lose their formation

I wrote the Summit Math Algebra series to help me teach my own Ss, but in the past year, they have been used by Ss in more than 40 states around the country. Summit Math is just one option among many good ones, but it's an option that seems to work well for some students.

My 9yo son said "I hate math" while struggling through long division. I assured him his feelings about math were tied to his current struggle, but it reminded me how important it is to guide kids through these moments to help preserve their love of learning.

Listening to many kids and adults share their views on what's going on in the US right now, I realize now as much as ever how beneficial it is to listen to each other. You show someone their voice is worth hearing when you make time to give them space to talk.

First time playing @QwirkleGame. Just noticed the symmetry of the 6 shapes. Do you see it? All 6 shapes have 90 degree rotational symmetry. Nice design strategy! 4 players see the same shape no matter where they sit.
