In February, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco seized over 600,000 ballots as part of an election investigation in California. Gavin Newsom’s response? On May 27, he signed legislation making it a crime to seize cast ballots from the custody of election officials. Instead of increasing transparency, California has now criminalized access to evidence for election investigations.

Why did Gavin Newsom rush this “urgency measure” to pass SB 73 in California right before their elections? Not only did it immediately shut down Sheriff Bianco’s election fraud investigation, it prevents future investigations… 🤔

Well, you have the power to change it. Under the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA), any non-citizen - including illegal immigrants and green card holders - who votes unlawfully in a U.S. election is deportable. It’s a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. § 611 and an automatic ground for removal under INA § 237(a)(6). This is still the law in 2026. Enough of the empty words, do something about it already.
