Did you know San Bernardino County offers tools to help homeowners add accessory dwelling units? 🏡 Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and Junior Accessory Dwelling Units (JADUs) are small, independent living spaces built on residential properties. They offer flexible housing options for families, renters and homeowners looking to add space or generate extra income. To make the process easier, San Bernardino County offers pre-approved ADU plans, which can reduce design costs and speed up permit review. This lighthearted video shows our new quadruped robot dog, meeting his new fellow employees at headquarters. It is always difficult being the new employee, but it’s not too tough if you can do neat tricks. Jokes aside, our partnership with @HawkRobo_ allows this high-tech tool to help augment our robotics program. This robot will be used for situational awareness and mapping inside buildings, to enhance firefighter safety whether the building is in normal use or if it is collapsed and we are searching for victims. This robot is smaller than most which allows it to get into tighter spaces. It can also carry air monitoring devices into hazardous materials incidents to check the atmosphere. The goal is safety to our personnel. We will also be using the robot at public education events and to help open the world of robotics to young students.
