OCFA is on scene of a 15-acre vegetation fire in Rancho Mission Viejo Unincorporated. The fire has been named the #FordFire. Crews are attacking the fire from both the ground and air.

At the June 9, 2026, Board Meeting, I requested item S10A as an agenda item directing County staff to develop a formal countywide plan to phase out routine herbicide use and update the County’s Integrated Pest Management practices.
