1946, Pillars, Pedals & Police
O’Connell Street in quieter times, Nelson’s Pillar rises above Dublin, a British monument in an Irish city, snapped by Dutch photojournalist Willem van de Poll. Bicycles ruled the road, a Garda stands sentry and the pillar would last until 1966.
