At the moment, with Miggy, Samuel, Griff and Crosby, we have two different sets of brothers inside the top ten.

I missed the reasoning; why aren’t they running overlapping heats at Bells? Is it a new format thing, or just a ‘Bells is meant to be slow and boring’ mandate?

It’s most days, but it’s particularly days like these that I really wish Six Trophies was still going… @SheaSerrano @x_netw3rk_x

JJF IS BACK! 3X World Champ, Pipe Master, Eddie Winner, and one of the most progressive surfers of all time. The dynamic approach John brings to wave riding is truly one of a kind. He blows minds and raises the bar for what’s possible on a surfboard every time he paddles out, and now, he’s back in the jersey. Watch history be ridden, as John returns to the WSL Championship Tour April 1st at Bells Beach, Australia.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS. Gabriel Medina confirmed for 2026. 3x World Champ @gabriel1medina is officially in for the 2026 Championship Tour season. World Champ at 20, Pipe Master, 2x Tahiti champ, breaking the 45-year goofy drought at J-Bay, the 15-year goofy drought at Snapper, landed the first backflip ever in a jersey, owns some of the best barrels ever seen, and there’s much more history he’s set to write next year. Watch Gabriel back among surfing’s elite, April 1st, 2026 as the season kicks off at Bells Beach.

What? Just take a quiet moment to reflect on your own achievements at the age of 12. Damn…
Twelve-year-old Kelia Mehani Gallina stunned the surfing world and won the Tahiti Pro Trials, qualifying for the WSL's Championship Tour event at Teahupo'o. theinertia.com/surf/12-year-…

Just curious how people felt about that 8.6 and Connor vs. Ethan in general…

Anyone else sick of seeing reverse airs as the silver bullet for any surfer trying to make a heat? Yago just fumbled against an average Miggy heat, chasing the aerial unicorn. He should have just wet his rail and wrapped it up without them. Griff is throwing one at every wave.

It’s been a few years since Sal was a genuine title threat, but she’s an absolute beast on the CS. Mad respect for her living the dream and taking out each new generation on her road to requalification.

Marty Mac gets an 8. Ethan gets a 7.1. Matt had two good turns and a flair on the closeout. Both of Ethan’s turns were wildly superior, but he didn’t get the end-section jam. The lesson is there, kids: finish that wave over the bricks, or pay the consequences.

Are the judges rewarding critical end-section manoeuvres over big turns in the bowl? Jack must think so…

After McGillivray caught his first wave, priority was established. Crosby should have moved inside to ensure he couldn’t miss a similar insider. If a set came, then he could have still used priority. No excuse for such a poor heat plan.

We’ve seen 9 waves across 2 heats so far. Commentary team are being asked to do a lot of heavy lifting today. Can we go back to Keramas instead?

“It seemed like this heat was never going to end.” Amen @chriscoteshow; it went for an hour, and we got 4 waves. That said, Molly got the wave she needed, but couldn’t put it together. I think her leg muscles must have atrophied from lack of use…

So, are we now hearing the death knell for an El Salvador CT event? I couldn’t be less interested in whichever 6 heats they happen to be running each day.

That 3.17, while no-doubt difficult to score, cements the WSL’s commitment to NOT scoring degree of difficulty in riding switch. (Otherwise known as the ‘fuck skateboarding’ rule.)
