Eldest daughter again. Mrs. Dog (my mom) says it means a lot to see how many loving responses my dad has received. He was very loved. She asked me to share the obituary with you all. covenantfuneralservice.com/t…

Hello all. This is Surfacedog’s eldest daughter. Unfortunately, my dad passed away last night due to complications from Stage 4 cancer. He always bragged about how popular he was on Twitter and seeing your support for his recovery is heartwarming.

Update no. Eleventy: - they believe they have a handle on my vital renal failure. -I was discharged immediately into an in-patient rehab facility to begin intense PT/0T in order to prep me for home 7-10 days from now. The three young men in my family have already...

Converted the main dining room into an in-home rehab space. Immunotherapy seems to be working. I can crap in a toilet now! For now, my only job is to get stronger.

I'll probably watch the newest Mission Impossible movie, but every time I see the title, I die a little inside. IT'S DED RECKONING, YOU CRETINS!

Thanks to all my recent health issues, my wife and I decided to just stay in and relax. My youngest, who had busy plans for the day, stopped by with a Five Guy's burger "just so you could have SOMETHING to enjoy." Guess who just went up a notch in our will...

Quick update: peeing continues, excess water dropping (>25 lbs shed). Pot belly but a distant memory. Biopsy sched for Monday. Pneumonia almost completely gone. Had to cut back on pineapple consumption because my poop burns. A lot.

Quick update: got released out of stir today. Still have some effects from the pneumonia, but draining/peeing nearly 20 pounds of 'fluid' from my abdomen has helped immensely. Taking blood thinners for the embolism. Now to tackle the cancer...

Well, my COVID man cold took a nasty turn... After treating it for a week, I knew something was seriously wrong, so I went to the ER. - It's pneumonia. - With a clot on my lung. - And a cancerous growth on my rib. - And an unrelated liver issue. Still in the hospital.

On the plus side: - I wouldn't have found out about the other stuff if I hadn't gone to the ER. - The specialists are pretty awesome. - COVID ain't lookin' so bad anymore. I've had cancer, two strokes, malaria, and amoebic dysentery. At this rate I'll become unkillable. 😁

Also on the plus side: all the prayers and well-wishes are massively appreciated. A simple thanks seems inadequate. But thanks.

Welp, got the Rona. Feels like a bad flu. Apparently, they're just treating the symptoms now, so I got me an inhaler, some steroids, cough suppressant, and antibiotics.

Man cold update: still testing positive, but I'm breathing better. Fever's finally gone, but I still have bouts of dizziness, and the ol' brain-pan isn't up to tweeting much. Mrs. Dog hired someone to do the yardwork, thank little Baby Moses.

So we finished our first day at Gettysburg today. My thoughts: The Visitor's Center, with the movie, cyclorama, and museum, was outstanding. I've read everything I could about the battle for years; hell, I could easily write a timeliness complete with maps. However, 1/2

Nothing can compare to actually BEING there at the battlefield. I bought a $10 Self-guided auto tour that went in chronological order, and we only made it through day 2 (day 3 is tomorrow). Of all the famous (and infamous) sites, two that really "brought it home for me" 2/3

We're Devil's Den and Culp's Hill. They have to be seen to understand what that battle was like - trapped like rats (Devil's Den) or fighting while trying to climb up a steep, boulder-strewn slope (Culp's Hill). I'm still trying to absorb what I saw today.
