Heart failure is multi-faceted, so that is why this new study published in Nutrients Journal is so impressive.
In this newly published study, researchers gave people with heart failure and muscle loss (sarcopenia) a combination of high protein, fiber, omega 3s, vitamin D doses tailored to their blood level, and a Mediterranean diet. This was compared to a control group (Mediterranean diet only).
The results were nothing short of remarkable.
The group receiving high protein, fiber, vitamin D, omega 3s, and a Mediterranean diet had improvements in:
➡️Heart function
➡️Quality of life
➡️Improved functionality
➡️Improved nutritional status
➡️Increased muscle mass
I hope that researchers in the future will follow suit.
A comprehensive approach to healing for every condition is needed, not just another pharmaceutical pill.
