The irony of it all. Eastern Europeans, Irish, and Scottish all sent to the western frontier of Canada to prevent the USA from annexing it. From day one, treated with ambivalence and apathy from the federal government while Laurentians surveyed and staked the land. Every resource either owned, taxed, and regulated to concentrate the wealth in Ottawa for absentee landlords. Now their descendants are using the system those elites created to try and escape. Generations later, none of those bloodlines have changed. The rich are still the rich and the serfs are still the serfs. This only changes if separation succeeds.
