🧨Finishing with bang! The Swish “Navy” Competition Team concluded its Spring competitive season by earning a fourth Championship at the Rhode Island Breakers’ “Commotion by the Ocean.”
On Saturday, reigning Swish Most Valuable Player
@EmmaAyer2029 (Class of 2029;
@MonomoySharks) unleashed 19 points and 5 three-pointers in an opening game against the Connecticut Pride. The soon-to-be-named five-time All-Swish point guard averaged 14 points per game across the tournament while burying 10 three-pointers and shooting 64% (7-11) from the free-throw line. 13-year-old Swish point guard
@AvaShaw1119 (Class of 2030;
@Swich_Athletics) was borderline heroic in a hard-fought loss to an outstanding Rhode Island Breakers entry — single-handedly willing the ball across half-court against a wicked pressing scheme in what was unquestionably the best game of the entire tournament. On Sunday, 6-foot forward Elyse Sharpe (Class of 2027; Falmouth Academy) produced a masterpiece — 17 points, 13 rebounds, a three-pointer, and 89% (8-9) from the free-throw line — against Team Providence to earn a spot in the Finals. And in the Finals, three-time All-Swish small forward
@AvaPina04 (Class of 2028;
@MonomoySharks) delivered her best performance of the Spring by scoring 18 points while burying a three-pointer and shooting 78% (7-9) from the free-throw line. Amazing balance and contributions across the entire roster.
It was a highly beneficial competitive swing for our players this Spring. The program is clearly on the rise in terms of its overall level and play and the great news is that no players graduate or are expected to otherwise depart. A stronger, fitter, and more skilled group is expected to return in the Fall for what we’ll determine to be the appropriate schedule for our players. Congratulations to the players on navigating this Spring’s aggressive format! 💙🧡
