As someone with thousands of hours in rpg maker mv, its a shame to hear about the forums. No lie, there is a god-tier plugin just on some random page there that you can't find elsewhere, literally. It allows you to have events that can use multiple pages parallelled.

I've always took payment after I finish the piece. Way I see it, no matter who goes first, someone takes a risk. In doing this job for 10 or so years, I've never had someone run away. Perhaps I've been lucky. 🧵(1/3)
Why is it common to pay the artists at first before getting your piece? I'm slowly losing patience waiting months for a drawing without knowing what's going on. Its not our Job to ask everytime: yo whats up LET YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON AND HOW LONG ITS GONNA TAKE

...One thing thats helped is take comms and get comms from people that frequent your community/niche that you see around a lot. Part of the dance to me is "Oh ive seen you around a bit" so stealing money or not fulfilling on a commision would spell consequences for both (2/3)

...Its why I've kinda hated some posts that say "People just cause you commision someone doesnt mean your friends!!!". That's literally where you want to be friends and people you network/know, its safer that way, no one wants to fall out cause it'd hurt the dynamic. (3/3)
