im a s3/4 defender till the day I die but I really do think Sydney and Carm are the heart of the show and their relationship (whether platonic or romantic) is integral to what is happening
but because they want to avoid romance so bad they've consistently seperated Carm and Syd

an #izuocha headcanon of mine is that Izuku is often trying to compensate for something he feels he lacks. He’s internally viewing himself as lesser, so whenever Ochako has the opportunity to remind him of how important he is, she jumps on it. I tried to explore that here

ofc a lot of this is done through their sexual relationship and that building, but the inner struggle m is getting Izuku to view himself in a positive light. Being able to like what he sees in a mirror
Which is very difficult but imo necessary for his growth as a character here
