The wind turbine components for King Rocks Wind Farm will be transported by trucks 450 km from the Port of Bunbury from late May and continuing until about September. The transportation has been coordinated to help minimise disruption to road users.

Wind turbine blades that will power King Rocks Wind Farm have landed at the Port of Bunbury. The arrival of the 51 V162 Vestas wind turbine blades is a significant milestone. The blades and components will be transported by truck to the construction site near Hyden.

Around 800 wooden gluts from Muja Power Station have been recycled and turned into handcrafted toys for children in need by Wangara Men's Shed member, Graham Skewes (pictured).
Synergy donated the gluts to men’s sheds in Collie and Wangara.

Synergy continued its safe decommissioning of the former Kwinana coal power station with a boiler partly demolished yesterday. The works were successfully carried out using small explosive charges under strict safety and environmental protocols, including exclusion zones.

One of two prominent chimney stacks in Kwinana has been removed as part of the decommissioning of the old Kwinana Power Station. This marks a significant milestone for the local community, with the stacks having been a familiar feature of the Kwinana skyline for many years.

All of the buildings are now onsite for Synergy’s Hyden Workers’ Accommodation Village. The village will feature 189 temporary rooms and associated facilities to support the development of King Rocks Wind Farm.
Workers are expected to start moving into the village soon.
