It’s been 5 years since Jon died. While his official passing was December 26th, yesterday was the anniversary of when I knew it was over. I remember typing up a message in my notes on my phone to copy & paste to the people in my circle to update them. I remember crying while I typed and deleting and typing and deleting. Trying so hard to stay positive when I knew how bad things were. Choosing my words so carefully as not to paint a picture of despair to everyone. Willing myself to believe it’s still going to be ok. Having that feeling in the pit of my stomach that it wasn’t. Walking thru the hallway at @AEW yesterday, the memory hit me as I passed some of those people I sent those texts to. Randomly seeing Tony & The Bucks in a hallway, I was back in the window at Mayo typing into my phone. I have no clue why it hit me the way it did but it all flooded back. 5 whole years that somehow feel like yesterday while also feeling like a lifetime ago. “Time means nothing. Jeremy Bearimy.” I wasn’t planning on sharing this but being open about my grief journey has not only helped me but let me connect with so many people. The next few weeks are filled with so many anniversaries and milestones that feel isolating, so I’m going to share them. I miss him every day. I’ll never pass a chance to talk about him. Hear stories of him. Tell his story. Keep his memory. To never forget how loved he was. To remember who he was.
