Valve started handing out VAC cooldowns to reduce the risk of false bans.
This was a terrible fucking idea because no one was even getting banned in the first place.
Faceit has had the perfect anti-cheat punishment system for many years but Valve still refuses to implement it in CS2
here's how it should work:
1. cheater gets permanently banned
2. anyone they queued with loses all elo from matches they played together
3. randoms on their team keep their elo since it's not their fault
4. everyone who lost to the cheater gets their elo refunded
5. everyone who beat the cheater keeps their win elo
it's literally that s1mple and 3rd party platforms figured it out a long time ago but for big old Valve it's seemingly impossible to add actual QoL features 💀
