I love the conversations happening around good, quality direct instruction. @kaganonline Dr. Spencer Kagan reminds us, “Cooperative learning isn’t antithetical to direct instruction. Cooperative learning complements rather than replaces direct instruction; it is used to cement learning that occurs via direct instruction.”
It’s not either/or. We can deliver clear, direct instruction and structure opportunities for students to actively process and apply what they learn together.

Team building at our @AAOTAS February SAM Club with the @KaganOnline structure Simultaneous RoundTable. The team contributed to a story with the sentence starter, "The Athenian team is off on a road trip to..." Similar to what happens in Vegas, it might be best to keep these stories in-house. Kagan, it's all about engagement!
