TACA Homeschool Baseball has named former Central Arkansas Pitcher/Catcher Grant Plunkett as the new Middle School Gold head coach and middle school director. Plunkett was a 3-year Varsity Catcher for LD Bell and the 2018 District 5-6A Defensive Player of the Year. At Central Arkansas he played two years as a catcher and his final year as a pitcher. Three of his teammates went on to play in the major leagues. Grant accepted Christ as his Savior at age 8, and his freshman year in college made a decision to pursue Christ “in a way that changed my life forever. I got involved in an organization called Athletes in Action where I was able to grow in 1-on-1 discipleship that truly pushed me to grow deeper in my faith as well as learn what it looks like to share the gospel and disciple others.” TACA is a college prep homeschool baseball program and the largest in the United States.

TACA Varsity Gold remained perfect at the Homeschool World Series in Florida with a 9-4 win over Thesa. Grant Zappasodi and Justin Fricke and both had two hits. Zappasodi threw 4 innings of 1-run ball. TACA, now 27-8, and the #1 seed, plays Thursday against Nashville Academy.
