Trek day 4: up early for sunrise. Our last big day of hiking. Mostly downhill on tracks and jungle paths. More survival tips from our guides - drinking water from liana vines!
Trek day 3: big day of trekking today. Beautiful views of Mount Kinabalu to keep us going. After lunch, the team made camp more homely by building a table from bamboo!!
Trek day 2: we stayed local to our camp today. Learning survival skills. Lighting fires, cooking in bamboo and making bamboo utensils. The waterfall was our water source.
According to @Strava Team 1 will have walked 119km and climbed 4,817m in 36h47 👣 Massive congratulations to everyone in both expedition team for pushing themselves outside their comfort zone 🎉 Huge thank you to @TAExpeditions for their outstanding planning and support 👏🏼
An update from our group in Tanzania!
The group began last week in Tarangire National Park for an evening safari before working on the Soko Primary School Project.

After a final walk around the port city of Essaouira, we waved goodbye to the Atlantic Ocean and drove back to Marrakech 🌍 Time for everyone to have some dinner, check their packing, and get some sleep before heading off to the airport tomorrow morning ✈️ #RGSExpedition2024
Last night, we met with the village leaders to discuss how we could help the community during our stay with @TAExpeditions 🇲🇦 They told us that they wanted help clearing and widening a junction on the main road to allow ciment lorries to access the village ⚒️ #RGSExpedition2024

Today we completed our community project in Tizi Oussem 🇲🇦 We cleared the road of rubble, widening the road itself, and built a dry stone wall to stabilise the toe of the landslide🏗️ Everyone put in maximum effort and displayed brilliant team spirit 🎉 @RGS_News@TAExpeditions
Team 2 have made it to the jungle after a full day of travel by coach and then boat. Off into the jungle tomorrow for our trek, so will be without internet. Everyone in high spirits ready for the adventure ahead!
This morning we left Toubkal basecamp at 3,200m and hiked down to the village of Aroumd located at 1,900m altitude near Imlil ⛰️ It took us about 3h30 to cover a total of 10.8km as we descended into the valley 👣 @RGS_News@TAExpeditions#RGSExpedition2024
