Day 3 of Islander Nursing Camp opened with check-in, followed by Mental Health First Aid Training, then researched a teen health topic and presented their findings to a panel of judges and ended with Stop the Bleed training with certificates provided by HCA.

Day 2 of Islander Nursing Camp started with check-in and jumped right into Nursing Jeopardy, Patient Zero Simulation and an afternoon visit from the CHRISTUS team who shared their own paths to nursing.

Islander Nursing Camp is officially underway! Our campers kicked off Day 1 with a warm welcome from Melissa Leal, Amiee Griffis, and Sheryl McMillan, who laid out the goals and expectations for the week ahead. One day down and these future nurses are already shining.

This team of nursing students showcased great skill in assessing 100 HS students in San Juan, Costa Rica, leaving the Director and teachers thoroughly impressed. We are thrilled to see these emerging nurses spread their wings - just one more semester until they take flight!

Our CONHS nursing students safely arrived at the Soltis Center for this summer’s Costa Rica clinical experience and have already begun their exciting journey. We look forward to our students gaining valuable hands-on learning as they work alongside the Costa Rican community.

#Summer2026 is officially underway. MedSurg II students spent the day doing medication, administration, simulation, and skills check offs, turning first day, nerves into confidence as they prepare for the upcoming clinical rotation!

The CONHS welcomed 48 new BSN students into the Summer 2026 cohort. Beginning their program with enthusiasm, these students will earn their “BSN, RN” credentials in just 5 semesters. We are excited to support their development as they prepare for their future healthcare careers.

Dean Hassan Aziz served as the keynote speaker at the 1st African Congress of Medical Biology held in Tunisia this May 2026. He joined an inspiring gathering of leaders, scholars, and practitioners committed to advancing healthcare excellence and innovation across the continent.

Successful Practicum Presentations Delivered - Twelve HCAD 5480 Practicum students delivered their final presentations in May. There were several preceptors, campus partners, and CONHS faculty who attended.

Assistant Clinical Professor Meza proudly participated in this year’s Autism Awareness 5K leading by example and inspiring the next generation both at home and in the clinical setting. This experience was even more memorable as she shared it with her family.

Assistant Clinical Professor Meza’s Psychiatric Clinical group demonstrated outstanding performance throughout their clinical rotation. Students engaged professionally and compassionately with patients gaining meaningful insight and a broader perspective on mental health care.
