News Release – Texas A&M University Police Welcomes New Police Officers
The Texas A&M University Police Department (TAMU PD) would like to welcome five new police officers to the department: Gavin Giles, Devon Harris, Kristen Heffley, Ashley Novak, and Tyler Stevens.
The new officers were sworn in by Associate Vice President and Chief of Police J. Mike Johnson during a ceremony at the TAMU PD, honoring their recent completion of the Central Texas Police Academy’s 180th Basic Peace Officer Course. The officers attended their academy graduation ceremony yesterday at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.
This morning, Friday, June 12th, the new officers reported for duty to begin their field training. The officers will spend the next 20 weeks paired with Field Training Officers to learn the duties of being a police officer at Texas A&M University.
