This kind of absurd roadblock in a contribution process directly drives away trans people who may have safety/stalking concerns, and anyone else who has reason to keep their information private. And for what, to make it more comfortable for bigcorps to exploit my work? No thanks

You don't need to respond to feature requests from transphobes. You don't need to welcome rapists back into your communities. When people tell you that free software and hacking should be about technology and not people, you can just tell them to fuck off.

One of my favorite things is that every morning there’s a little cat face peaking under my door trying to figure out when I’m getting up. Cuties 😻

Can’t believe my @drobo is about to be an expensive, useless hunk of metal. Very cool that they’re simply not updating for the new macOS. Now how will I use all of my hard drives for backing up my Macs? πŸ€”

PSA: @Railway has nothing to do with Ruby (as I’d assumed) and is actually the most delightful way I’ve found to deploy Rust services so far πŸ₯°πŸ¦€. Go give it a test, took me like 5 minutes from signup to deploy an existing Rust GitHub repo.

β€œThe Bourne Shell scripting language that we all love and use” Who is we? Because… no.
#Linux #kernel developer Linus Walleij wrote "Rust in Perspective": people.kernel.org/linusw/rus… "[…] Rust is attempting to raise the abstraction in the programming language and ultimately to join computer science and software engineering into one single discipline, an ambition […]
If GitHub’s copilot is actually in violation of software licenses then… sue them? The only way to test if those licenses work the way you think is to test them. And if they don’t, then we need new licenses! I’m just confused why I see so much anger but no action.
If you’re paying money to tell people you’re good… you’re probably not. Commercial ads that aren’t selling anything specific are a red flag.

You may be thinking "wow, bitcoin sure has fallen a long way now, maybe I should buy a little just in case, when would be a good time?" and the answer is no, do not do that, that is how we got into this mess. Stay the fuck out.

Isn’t holding equity in the company that gives you your salary the exact opposite of diversification? I really only know the one thing about investing but… it’s a big one.
