UKABIF had a really successful conference at #IPBIS2024 International Conference on Paediatric Acquired brain Injury in Glasgow last week. The Acquired Brain Injury Justice Network presented the Lord Ramsbotham Memorial Lecture, introduced by our co chair Professor Nathan Hughes with presentations from Professor Tom McMillan and Liam Dorris. Our thanks to Hope Kent who organised this session for us. The National Acquired Brain Injury in Learning & Education Syndicate (N-ABLES) ran a symposium ‘Nothing about us with out us’ featuring Rachel Keetley Shannon Scratch, Jennifer Lundine, Edel Jannecke Svendsen, introduced by our fabulous group of young experts by experience in acquired brain injury (YEBEABI). Our enormous thanks to them and also to Charlotte Giblin Gemma Costello and @EmBennett78 who did all the heavy work organising this session. Finally Eleanor Bryant presented her work exploring educators understand of acquired brain injury. It has been a great experience being part of the local organising committee, chaired by Liam Dorris working alongside Beth Wicks Katie Byard Gemma Costello @EmBennett78 Gerard Anderson Lisa Turan Lorna Wales and Stacey Dodd. And fabulous to reconnect with friends, colleagues and supporters including all of the above and Dr Penny Trayner Huw Williams Andrew McGowan amongst many others! Thank you IPBIS!
