You ARE throwing their votes away, and throwing our elections into chaos with this Trump-driven mid-decade redistricting nonsense. You know this, but try to gaslight your constituents anyway.
🚨🚨Dirty Politics on Memorial Day🚨🚨 Democrats send Mass Text falsely accusing Proponents of Redistricting of “Throwing away” Military Ballots. The SC Director of Elections Commission, Conway Belangia has assured us in open Public Testimony and privately that Military members oversees will get ballots and afforded the chance to vote if we pass Redistricting. Democrats know this but send fake news text anyway.

I know there’s a national conversation happening about our information ecosystem, but what are yalls thoughts about how best to fill the local information gaps? Existing traditional local news orgs are really not cutting it… so what should we build that would be useful?

“Fuck around and find out” as a mentality has not worked in places like SC where we’ve been under one-party rule for years, by ineffective Republican leadership. How long do we have to wait for the “find out” phase to actually move voters?

Anyone have thoughts about where deeply entrenched red states like South Carolina go from here? We now have supermajorities in our state house and senate. And the “fuck around and find out” mantra doesn’t really seem to phase the majority of voters here. So, what next?

Problems like our liquor liability crisis aren’t going to get fixed if we keep electing the same folks who have sat on their hands for months not doing anything about it.

It's right to be asking ourselves lots of good questions right now — I prefer making sure we're asking the right questions vs. seeking all the answers within 72 hours. But one of the questions we shouldn't be asking is about the integrity of the election. He won and the votes are still being counted. We cannot lean on Trump talking points and conspiracy theories about uncounted ballots and "missing voters" to evade the reality that he won a free and fair election. Use your time and energy confronting the harsh realities of that and what it means instead of evading the truth about who we are and where we're at.

Bre Spaulding has been the best campaign manager for my first go at this. And we are young!! Meaning we have a lot of runway to make positive change in South Carolina. I’m grateful for her wisdom and friendship. Let’s do this tomorrow yall 🗳️🔥💪🏾🇺🇸 @bre_spaulding

There is something very special about hearing from people that they’ve voted for you. Through this campaign we have given people a choice that they haven’t had in over a decade. I know that’s special for both them and me. Onward to Tuesday! 🗳️💪🏾🔥

The way conservatives are talking about women right now — treating them as if they have no agency, no voice, shouldn’t have any opinions, should follow a man’s lead at every turn — is exactly how they legislate. It’s sickening.

Yes, because the world we want to live in includes using our tax dollars to fund the time and energy it’s taking to review whether To Kill a Mockingbird, a classic American novel, should be banned from our public schools. It’s getting really ridiculous out here yall…

This moment is all about political courage, and who among us has enough of it to stand up for what’s kind, and loving, and hopeful. Love always wins. We’re going to win.

I could discuss the contents of this mailer we got from Ross Turner for hours, but one thing that makes me so frustrated is how Ross and other lawmakers will spend so much time and energy on huge, consequential legislation like our 6-week abortion ban and then won’t even name it as something they’re proud of! If you’re going to strip women of the freedom to make their own healthcare decisions, you better own it! You don’t get to sweep things like that under the rug when it’s no longer politically beneficial. He knew how unpopular that vote would be when he took it, and he did it anyway!!! Don’t get me started on the hypocrisy around “backing the blue.” 🙄 It is time for us to go in a new direction yall! I can’t stress this enough. Ross Turner does not have our best interest at heart—and he will throw us under the bus every time our freedoms are on the chopping block. I was really hoping to be able to discuss some of these things with him in a debate so that voters were better informed about our views. Unfortunately, he never responded. We all deserve better than this!

Hey @SenRossTurner, on your list of “accomplishments,” you left out how you voted for banning abortion in SC. Your voting record for women’s rights to their own body is abysmal. @vickiringer justfacts.votesmart.org/cand…

Just received @SenRossTurner’s mailer. Not sure how someone can “back the blue” when they were advised against open carry, but voted for it anyway.

Oh, we’re surprised that rich men that own media companies and have tons of power are cowards? Ha.

This @SCDailyGazette story tells you everything you need to know about our fight for #SC04. William Timmons is a stranger to his constituents who hurts working families in Congress. I’m running to restore real servant leadership here in the Upstate.

Republicans who have voted straight party for the last 4 election cycles are deciding to make a change this year and choose a better way forward. This election will be close because the work of everyone who believes a better way is possible. It’s not too late to join us!
