Kotek bragging about a 19% drop in homelessness in Central Oregon like it’s some statewide victory lap, while the rest of Oregon burns.
Statewide, Oregon hit 27,200 homeless in 2025, a 19% spike year-over-year and 34-35% higher than when she took office. Portland Tri-County exploded 61% to 12,034, with Multnomah County alone later reporting 18,500, 29% jump in months. Billions spent, multiple ‘emergency declarations’ extended, endless shelter beds and ‘Housing First’ experiments that just warehouse addiction and chaos on our streets while taxpayers foot the bill for the homeless industrial complex. She’s cherry-picking one region to spin failure as success while Portland looks like a third-world tent city, businesses flee, and families deal with the fallout. Tina Kotek will be leaving after one term.
