The kind of person who believes that you solve the problems technology creates with "more technology" tends to believe that you solve the problems that mimesis creates with "more mimesis". You make sure your mimesis and your scapegoating mechanism is stronger and harder than your enemy's. That's how you think you will win. You have caught the woman in the act of adultery. Congratulations. Now what?

The end of physical media is depressing. You don’t actually own digital media streaming companies can literally delete it and there’s nothing you can do about it.
End of an era. Best Buy has officially removed physical media from their store😢

Advice from Mookie Wilson, former Major League Baseball outfielder and coach. Mookie is most remembered for being the Mets player who hit a ground ball through the legs of first basemen and Red Sox player Bill Buckner in the bottom of the 10th inning of game 6 of the 1986 World Series.

RIP, Charlie Munger One of the last authentics. WSJ, Mark Spitznagel, founder, Universa Investments: "Munger was a guiding light that taught a generation (or two, or three) of investors, including me, how to think—what to focus on, what not to focus on, the importance of mental models, and how to avoid so much of the BS from the industry and academia."

You are not going to like this tweet so turn away if you are likely to be triggered: I am a very optimistic person; I am a fighter for Western values and liberties; I am a dogged defender of science, reason, and common sense. I must say though that I am unsure that the West can recover from its multifront civilizational suicide. Yes, I've talked about these issues for decades and wrote a book about it but the past few weeks have crystallized the extent to which the problem has become intractable. It will be a long and ultimately bloody demise and the West will be the first society in recorded history to fully self-implode due to its parasitic ideological rapture. It is a gargantuan Greek tragedy that will shape the future of humanity. This is not hyperbole. Your grandchildren will pay a very high price for your "progressive" arrogance rooted in the pursuit of Unicornia that only exists in the recesses of deeply flawed parasitized minds.

One of my favorite books
Forgot that a revised version of The Bed of Procrustes has been out for a few months; added a set of aphorisms from 2022. BTW the Bed of Procrustes is the most read book of aphorisms of the 21st century.

8/ Demand the best of yourself The Stoics come down hard on procrastinating. "Putting things off and always deferring the day after which you will attend to yourself," Epictetus said, "you will live and die as someone quite ordinary." Stop deferring. Demand the best of yourself.
