It’s Human Rights Day! At THRE, human rights are at the core of what we do. So, we’ve put together a 🧵 to tell you a bit more about them. ⬇️
ALT Human rights and Scotland’s third sector. On the 76th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, THRE are exploring human rights mean for Scotland’s third sector in 2024.
Our resources include quotes and case studies from a range of organisations who are actively embedding the principles of human rights into what they do everyday. Here’s what they’ve told us.
ALT What do third sector organisations say?
“We know that different perspectives enable better decision-making. We also understand that it is critical for families supported by CHAS to see themselves reflected in the leadership of the organisation. This is why we embarked on a project to review our Trustee recruitment and selection processes.” CHAS.
“Good practice means doing things in the best way for everyone. It is important for all businesses and organisations to make sure that the services they offer are accessible to everyone.” “At VIAS we often say: If you get it right for people with learning disabilities then you get it right for everyone.” Values into Action Scotland.
