Spoke with my summer grad school prof. His question- 3 take aways from class. Response- 1. Modeling is key, 2. Have a purpose for every single thing 3. Whole grp, sm grp, whole works. My extra was: it helped me grow so much in my thinking & philosophy as a teacher.

I love creating math manipulatives. We learned some students really struggled seeing reflections. Let's see if this helps. Then, on to rotations.

This goes w/a big takeaway from grad class. Easy way to get Ss to think re:their thinking is saying "Tell me more about that/why you think that". Reflection & talking to learn. The door opens to work out any misconceptions. Ss solidify learning.

Things I have learned in my grad class: 1. sm grp & mini lessons w/team teaching rocks & works (whole-part-whole), 2. These books are for all ages & grades (Latin/Greek roots & new strategies to teach them, awesome), 3. Being intentional w/plans & lessons makes a difference
