It’s been RE Day! The Robins have been learning how different religions care for other people & the world around them. Thanks to the Hindu Education Services & Holy Trinity Heworth for helping us learn :)
This week in Robins we have been using our clay skills that we practiced last week to make our Bog Babies. They are looking amazing! Well done Year 1 ⭐️
Last week the Robins learnt a variety of clay skills , ready to assemble our very own bog baby’s this week. We can’t wait to see your bog baby’s Robins.
We’ve had a mesmerising end to the week courtesy of a beautiful operatic performance of ‘The Vanishing Forest’! (We particularly liked the part where the man magically turned into a fox!)
We’ve also been using our knowledge of number bonds to reveal a secret message… & we made some clever flowers that can help us remember the 2 & 10 times tables!
On the KS1 yard this morning we have had a very spontaneous maths activity for our NSPCC Number Day! We have been measuring the children and they have been writing their height onto our class whiteboard to compare our different heights! @NSPCC
The Robins have been enjoying some specialist coaching this term from Chance to Shine Cricket & have been very excited to practise their batting, catching & bowling skills.
We have had a very special visitor this afternoon who has been teaching us all about what life was like when Florence nightingale was alive . We have learnt all about different medicines that were used at the time , we even had a go at making our own! Thank you @EnglishHeritage
