Can't. Wait. to join another @NSPRA Seminar! No doubt AI is going to be a major conversation as more districts begin developing policies for the new year. It has me thinking about our role in School PR and the incredible opportunity we must seize. My #NSPRA2024š§µ.
3. Youāve seen the built-in tools companies like Apple are imbedding into their products (email, text, etc.) to rewrite messages in different ways and tones. As comm experts, we MUST train our staffs from the district-level down to reinsert our unique voices into these messages.
5. This isn't just a challenge for schools; itās a societal issue. But as we converge in Seattle, we have a unique opportunity to learn how we can better guide our teams through this new territory.
6. We in School PR can be the authority on using AI effectively to enhance our established voices, not mask them with an automated cyborg. Thatās my š§µ thoughts as I prep for another great week of learning! #NSPRA2024#AI
A š§µ from Superintendent Jeff Mayo on @GovBillLee's acknowledgement that vouchers are dead this legislative session.
1. We've called it a sham from the start. Evidence said so.
A5: Supporting state SPRAs with booking in-person crisis comm workshops would do wonders, with the skill itself and giving chapters invaluable training (i.e. recruitment too!). NSPRA could support with partial funding, traveling speaker series, etc. #k12PRchat
A4: I work in a smaller, suburban district with four schools (about 5K students). Smaller just means thereās a heightened sense you MUST cover everything. With that, Iād love a sports media position, helping teams with branding, coverage, media strategy, etc. š£ #k12PRchat
Banning AI, instead of showcasing responsible use, denies reality. AI is & will forever be a part of our personal & professional lives. We should lean into AI to help ease the workload, while using it to boost creativity. Teaching should hone in on human connections. #ChatGPT
Came across a polarizing Reddit discussion about using AI to write press releases. Some argue it's efficient and cost-effective, while others worry about the ethics and lack of human touch. What do we think? AI is a āfor my media class. PRs, thoughts?
Thanks to @NSPRA_ED Barbara Hunter for visiting with @tnspra members for our conference, hosted by @WCSedu! We learned so much hearing Barbara's Leadership Lessons from the Frontlines of #SchoolPR. Great to have a "boots on the ground" director engaging with SPRAs across the USA!
