NEW: We're watching an area of low pressure over NE Mexico and this system has now been designated Invest 90L. As it lifts into the NW Gulf through midweek, it could thread the needle and become the first tropical storm of the season.

Either way, flooding rain and gusty wind are expected across parts of #Texas, #Louisiana, #Mississippi, and even the Panhandle of #Florida. This doesn't look to impact us in Central Florida but the remnants could help bring more rain our way. Stay tuned!

There's a an area of weaker shear in this part of the Gulf as well as warmer water which will help likely help it organize. Our tropical storm potential map pinpoints around a 40% chance of this becoming Tropical Storm Arthur by Wednesday.
