Finally home from working Combo Breaker. Glad to be back after two weeks away.
Big congrats to the hard working people who make the event possible.
This is actually the first time Iβve ever gotten a picture with just Rick after years of working for him, and I wanted to take a moment to talk about him a bit, because we too often donβt give people their flowers until theyβre gone.
Iβve been attending CB since its inception in 2015 (and UFGT since 2012). Iβd always known of Rick, but never really interacted with him until 2019, when we got off to a rocky start. Even with that, heβs gone out of his way to offer me assistance, guidance, and wisdom throughout my journey.
Heβs been a mentor, a friend, and even the creator of the best TNS shirt weβve ever had (TNS Chicago iykyk).
Working for him has helped me become a better person and a better event organizer. He was the first person I called after my late wife passed, and he has been there for me countless times without fail whenever I needed someone to talk to.
Heβs one of the few people I credit with giving me the opportunity and/or inspiration to pursue my passion in the FGC, and I definitely would not have made it this far without him.
Thank you
