The reviews of #Da5Bloods call it one of Spike Lee's best, "most complete" and "most powerful" films - "a new career peak".
There's also high praise for Delroy Lindo: "a career-best performance" and "almost rivals Denzel Washington in Malcolm X"

We've decided not to host our regular Friday watch-along tonight and will use the time to reflect, listen and learn.
As two white people, we've lived in and benefitted from an unfair system our entire lives and in not speaking out or acting enough before, we are complicit. (1/4)

For me, an e.g. at its most basic of 'white privilege' is not being told to 'go back to your own country'. That said repeatedly, to a child growing up will no doubt have an impact, shape that kid's views. I was fortunate to be able to channel it creatively. Not all are so lucky.

This is a hidden gem in my humble opinion. Many people didn’t see it when it came out because people@just wanted me to make Bend it Like Beckham over and over again and this was a comedy Horror movie. Anyway glad you checked it out thanks.
