I also want to take a second to praise @tagreathouse for her poem-a-day editorship all month, prioritizing less established poets folks need to be reading, alongside Palestinian, trans, qpoc, and disabled folks, esp in the aftermath of @POETSorg's recent editorial failures

I've been telling y'all that @khilfish is a poet you need to be reading. I hope people really sit with this poem, and the ways US language apparatus is failing us & manufacturing consent to genocide.

Cannot wait for this book & I hope everyone working within the lit criticism apparatus pays attention! My pressmates at Haymarket poetry (thanks to the most brilliant editors poets) never disappoint & it's an eternal honor to be a life-long reader of these brilliant folks
Ankle-Deep in Pacific Water is available for pre-order NOW! The book is slated for October 15th—so put it on your calendar! As importantly, I am very happy to share the cover of the book, which is “I Wanted to Give You the Ocean” by the luminous visual artist @callme_stassj

WE CANNOT STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS GENOCIDE! It has not stopped. And even when we get a "ceasfire," whatever tf that word even means now, we cannot stop talking about Gaza. I don't think ppl understand the way Palestinian society will be tending to these wounds for generations
Tweets about Palestine no longer go viral. The genocide is no longer trending. Back to business as usual. The normalization of our people’s slaughter is sweeping across the West, whose leaders provide the nails being driven into the hearts of our children.

Since there are professors telling students to read a lot or else they’ll never be educated, I want to remind everyone about what Paulo Freire one said: the quality of reading outweighs the quantity and that reading the world is as important as reading the word.
