80 years ago today, Sir Winston Churchill delivered one of the most consequential speeches of the 20th century, his “Sinews of Peace” address, better known as the “Iron Curtain” speech, right here in my district in Fulton, Missouri.
What would the world look like today without Winston Churchill? He was one of the greatest statesmen of any generation and among the first to recognize the enduring importance of truth, morality, and justice.
That’s why my bill, which passed the House this week, to designate the
@ChurchillMuseum at Westminster College as a National Historic Landmark is so important. This designation will help ensure that future generations of students have the opportunity to read, learn, and reflect, not only on history itself, but on the powerful legacy of Winston Churchill.
