When tested—as it is from time to time—the special relationship always passes the test. My blog on the bond between the United States and United Kingdom, which was reaffirmed today by King Charles III during his historic address before a joint session of the U.S. Congress. nationalchurchillmuseum.org/…

80 years ago today, Sir Winston Churchill delivered one of the most consequential speeches of the 20th century, his “Sinews of Peace” address, better known as the “Iron Curtain” speech, right here in my district in Fulton, Missouri. What would the world look like today without Winston Churchill? He was one of the greatest statesmen of any generation and among the first to recognize the enduring importance of truth, morality, and justice. That’s why my bill, which passed the House this week, to designate the @ChurchillMuseum at Westminster College as a National Historic Landmark is so important. This designation will help ensure that future generations of students have the opportunity to read, learn, and reflect, not only on history itself, but on the powerful legacy of Winston Churchill.

Always a pleasure to speak with @RandyToblerMD and @stephaniesbell about Churchill, especially on 80th anniversary of the “Iron Curtain” Speech.
Today is the 80th anniversary of "Sinews of Peace", which was British Prime Minister Winston Churchill's famous Iron Curtain speech. He delivered that speech in mid-Missouri's Fulton. Numerous events are planned this weekend. Churchill museum curator @TSRiley spoke on "Wake Up."

“When American military men approach some serious situation they are wont to write at the head of their directive the words "Overall Strategic Concept." There is wisdom in this, as it leads to clarity of thought. What then is the overall strategic concept which we should inscribe today? It is nothing less than the safety and welfare, the freedom and progress, of all the homes and families of all the men and women in all the lands.” —Winston Churchill, “The Sinews of Peace” 5 March 1946

It is truly an honor to curate the new exhibition, “Creating The Sinews of Peace,” opening March 5 in conjunction with the 80th Anniversary Commemoration at @ChurchillMuseum on the campus of @WestminsterMO.
Eighty years later, Churchill’s words still matter. Join us March 5–7 as the nation gathers to mark the 80th Anniversary of The Sinews of Peace—where freedom was defined and history was shaped.

So glad to see the legislation advancing to make @ChurchillMuseum a National Historic Landmark. Churchill said it best and it definitely applies in this case, “We shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us.”
Unanimous in Senate, unanimous in House @NatResources Committee. Let’s make it happen before March 5 in the full House. Thank you @RepBobOnder for your leading the way.
